Thoughts from Sensei
Well...the storm rolled in about a week ago, and we're still digging out of the mess. In fact, I just received a message that MCPS will be closed again tomorrow; Friday. Montgomery County is a large, diverse space with a lot of streets and sidewalks; ranging from downtown Bethesda to the more rural Damascus area and the big dig-out has understandably taken quite a bit of time! The most significant downside for us is that classes follow MCPS weather related closing and thus, The Forge has been closed this week. So...when there is no class, what does Sensei do?
Training on your own, even when you're a black belt, can be very challenging. When classes need to be canceled, it's much easier to think "oh boy, a day off!" Remember, that's the easy way. By training in our style, we have chosen that OUR way is not the easy way. So today gang...no day off. Here is what I will be doing in my personal practice today. Copy my strategy, use it as an outline, or do something of your own.
